The Presbyterian Church of East Africa traces its roots to the Church of Scotland Mission, which began work at Kikuyu and Thogoto in 1891.
In 1956, the church became autonomous and self-governing, taking the name Presbyterian Church of East Africa — a Kenyan-led church built on that missionary foundation.
Today the PCEA is organised into presbyteries and parishes across Kenya, continuing a long tradition of education, healthcare and community leadership alongside its ministry.
